Renegade Opera was founded in January 2020 by Madeline Ross (Executive Director), Danielle Jagelski (Music Director), and Elliot Menard (Grants Director) in order to make work that reflected their values as artists, advocates, and activists. Renegade’s first season produced The Secret Diaries of Pennsylvania Avenue and the first annual Holiday Song Swap.
Renegade Opera strives to dismantle systems of racism, patriarchy, homophobia, ageism, ableism, and financial gatekeeping in the opera industry. Renegade’s work addresses the financial inaccessibility of the arts for audiences and artists by implementing ethical producing practices and offering accessible performances and events to the public.
On the July 21, 2022 Thursdays @ Three Program, Renegade Opera previews Tito, an original and interactive adaptation of Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito. Audiences will join us as the White House Press for a tour of President Tito’s offices, witnessing both public addresses and private moments, as they make their way through the drama. Due to the intimate nature of this performance, masks are required for audience members. Find event information and tickets at www.renegadeopera.org/tito
