On Deck with Cameron Joublin & Sylvan Talavera

Fear No Music’s Young Composers Project is dedicated to developing the next generation of composers. YCP gives students the opportunity to composer their own music and work with a professional ensemble in the rehearsing and performance of that piece.
In this episode of “On Deck” we meet two (of the 14) teenage participants in this year’s program: Cameron Joublin and Sylvan Talavera.
Cameron Joublin is a senior at Lincoln High School. He plays bassoon, participates in his school band and choir, and performs with both the Portland Youth Philharmonic and Metropolitan Youth Symphony.
Sylvan Talavera is a sophomore and plays piano, trumpet, guitar, ukulele, and plays percussion with the Portland Youth Wind Ensemble, and tuba with the Cleveland High School Symphonic Band.
