Anna Larson is an 18-year old oboist who recently won the Portland Youth Philharmonic’s Concerto Competition; on March 5th she got to perform Vaughan Williams’ Concerto for Oboe on the stage of the Schnitzer Concert Hall. It was her first opportunity to perform with an orchestra, and it has only further fueled her desire to pursue music as a career. We’ll hear a good portion of that performance in this episode.
Anna also suffers from tendonitis, and sees that as the biggest obstacle between her and her musical goals.
