Cascadia Chamber Opera is excited to present the Cascadia Chamber Opera Festival 2024 in Astoria, Oregon from August 9th through August 25th.

This combination of events will include fully staged, English-sung productions of Gaetano Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love, Susan Kander and Roberta Gumbel’s dwb (driving while black), Ashley Hastings’s When Dragons Come to Play, and Sarah Cohen’s arrangement of Grimm Tales: Little Red Riding Hood, all at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts (The Larsen Center) in Astoria. Also on the schedule is “Pint-Sized Opera” (our opera-in-the-bars gig, free admission) featuring The Elixir of Love cast members at Fort George Brewery.

The Opera Festival will feature directors, conductors, vocalists, designers, and instrumentalists from across the country including Saori DeBruyn, Steven Evans Renteria, Deac Guidi, Brendan Hartnett, David Eby, Shelley Loring Barker, Bereniece Jones-Centeno, Adrian Rosales, Jennifer Crockett, Emma Jones, Lyayuka Janice Irungu, Mick Alderman, Jennifer Mikel, Janet Hutchinson, Gustavo Castro, Roberta Gumbel, Vincent Centeno, Brian Woosley, and many more.

All events held at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts 588 16th St., except for Pint-Sized opera at Fort George Brewery,1483 Duane St.
